Quality counseling in a supportive, respectful environment.
Working with individuals, couples and families in short and long-term psychotherapy or psychoanalysis is my passion! My goal is to empower you to build the resilience and confidence necessary for successful relationships. I use a collaborative, insight-oriented approach for a deeper, more compassionate understanding of yourself and others.
Whether you are struggling with a difficult relationship, have marital or family problems, feel overwhelmed by loss or heartbreak, struggle with loneliness or persistent fears, or whether you just feel stuck in your professional or creative life, I can help!
My in-depth training supports my ability to appreciate the complexity and uniqueness of each individual, couple or family with whom I work, and promote growth and change from the inside out!
In-person and telehealth sessions are available.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Meet Dr. Martha Carr
My practice is representative of the diverse Los Angeles community. Many of the people I see come from the creative or dramatic arts, especially those in the film, television, music, and theater industry.
I enjoy working with a variety of people from all professions, ranging in age from late adolescence to seniors. Relationship conflicts, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, the challenges of an artistic career or difficulties with life transitions are the most common concerns for those who seek therapy with me. Most of the family therapy I do is multigenerational – adult children and their parents. I have worked with writing partners, business partners and siblings.
My interactive style, sense of humor and insight-oriented approach helps people access their inner wisdom, and understand their thoughts and feelings more compassionately, fostering growth and change.
